Top 5 Natural Highlighters!

I love highlighters but my oily skin does not! Strong shimmery highlighters were a big NO for me because they would emphasize my dilated pores! I remember that day when I tried the ‘champagne Pop Jaclyn Hill ‘highlighter at Sephora, I felt my pores dancing and I took it off immediately! I am always on a hunt for subtle highlighters because they suit me the best. Here is my top 5  at the moment:

1.Wet n Wild Bronzer In ‘Reserve Your Cabanna’

Wet n Wild Reserve Your cabanna

Wet n Wild Reserve Your cabanna Swatch

This is the most subtle highlight ever and it is subtle to your pocket too! It is a light beige that has a very fine and creamy texture. It is extremely affordable and it gives the skin a very natural and beautiful sheen. The swatch doesn’t do it justice but on the face it looks so natural!

2.Essence Pure Nude Highlighter in 10

Essence Pure Nude Highlighter in 10

This is a baked formula that is so smooth and blends easily into the skin.
It has peachy undertones and it gives a beautiful sheen to the face.
The swatch doesn’t do it justice but on the face it looks so pretty and natural!

Availability : Ulta Target , amazon

3.MAC Strobe Cream

This product is stunning! It is a very lightweight cream that has pink undertones. Sometimes I mix it with my foundation for an overall glow and sometimes I like to apply it only on the high points of my cheekbones and on the bridge of the nose

Availability, HudsonBay

4.Becca Shimmering Skin perfector in The Liquid Version

Becca Simmering SKin Perfector

The liquid versions of Becca highlighters look more natural than the powders. They have 4 shades depending on your skin tone. Don’t be intimidated by the small shimmer particles because they barely show on the skin! (I swatched the shade Moonstone)

Availability Sephora , Ulta ,

5.Tarte Cheek Stains

Tarte Cheek Stain

Tarte Cheek Stain Swatch

Those are technically blushes, but they are sheer & glowy. If you have a round or rectangular face like me, you can apply your blush a little bit higher than the apples of your cheeks and that’s where I use these! I apply the product with my fingers or a stippling brush and it gives a beautiful natural sheen to the skin that is very subtle.Unfortunately, the shade that i swatched was discontinued but i posted the photo to show you how sheer they look like on the skin.

LOVE the Mac Strobe cream – HUGE MAC fan here!
Wet & Wild is often shoved aside for being a ‘cheap’ makeup, but the honestly do have some products that are worth consideration!

I had no idea that the essence highlighter was so good. From what I read here it is well worth a try. I’ll after it in the drugstores here to see if I like it as much and if it’s a good fit for me.

I love Wet n Wild Bronzer In ‘Reserve Your Cabanna’ for how natural it looks! 🙂 And I like mixing MAC Storobe Cream in my foundation too – gives a nice glowy effect.
My personal favourite natural looking highlighter is Shiseido High Beam White – it’s really subtle and has no visible shimmers.

    • Claire March 18, 2017 at 10:38 pm

I have never tried the Shiseido High Beam White ! i just googled it and your website popped so i was reading the review that you did !

Wow these highlighters are gorgeous. I need to get my hands on the Wet n Wild one, so pretty and would look amazing on my skin 🙂

    • Claire March 18, 2017 at 10:25 pm

yess ! It is really pretty !

  • ayrgalaxy March 17, 2017 at 12:14 pm

Omg! I love this post! So many pretty highlighters too!! And I love your heart shaped swatches! Beautiful!
I owned the WnW one up until it broke, I tried fixing it with alcohol and the formula just wasn’t the same so I had to toss it 😭 it hurt my feelings so bad because I really loved it and it truly was a natural highlight.
But I replaced it with the Essence one and it’s AMAZING!! I honestly feel like the Essence highlighter is a bit more pigmented than the WnW on me.
The Becca highlighter reminds me of the NYX born to glow illuminator, of course it’s really pigmented but I love mixing it with my foundation as well! ❤

    • Claire March 18, 2017 at 10:23 pm

      Oh Thank you 🙂
I agree with you ! The essence one is more pigmented than the WnW highlighter.
I have never tried the NYX born to glow ! i should check it out .
