Covergirl Total Tease Waterproof Mascara Review

A mascara wand with a teasing comb ? Yes ! You heard it right ! Covergirl created the new Covergirl Total Tease Waterproof Mascara with a unique and weird brush that you have never seen before! One side has some dense bristles and the other side has a teasing comb that is supposed to separate the clumps! But does it really work ? Let’s Find out!

Formula and application
I got the Covergirl Total Tease Waterproof Mascara in the waterproof version and in the shade is ‘ 825 very black’.The formula is not too wet but not too dry and it is more on the thick side. As for the application, the side of the brush that has dense bristles grabs on to the lashes really nicely. I find that ,the best way to use it, is by dragging the brush from roots to tips instead of wiggling it. I prefer to wipe off a little bit of the product before applying it because it may cause some clumps.

Does the comb really work?
This mascara gives more length than volume to the lashes in just one coat. As for the teasing comb, I tried to use it to separate the clumps,  but for me, it did not work so well. I find that the bristles are a little bit flexible and not very easy to use. However, I like to use this comb to coat the lashes on the outer corner and fan them out.

I find that it works well that way and it gives a nice effect to the outer corners of the eyes. I know for some of you including me, one coat is not enough, that’s why I always apply two coats to get more definition. It is buildable but after two coats it will start to look a lot clumpy.

As this is the waterproof version, it holds the curl very well. I find that, if you have straight lashes like me, it is better to curl them before applying it because it did not do a great job for curling the lashes on its own.
Finally, I didn’t notice any smudging or flaking during the day and the mascara was easy to remove only with an oil based makeup remover.

So overall, I was really satisfied by the result that I got from the Covergirl Total Tease Waterproof Mascara . It has a nice formula and it gives nice definition to the lashes without looking overly clumpy or heavy! The wand is really special and easy to use and the formula is longwearing too which is perfect for spring and summer! For me , this mascara is way more better than the previous Covergirl So lashy Mascara that had a very weird brush too. This one is more practical and easy to use.

Gosh it’s really amped up your lashes Claire – thanks for a terrific review! I haven’t strayed from my usual MNY The Falsies Mascara for years, but I’m sure tempted to try this xxx

What a unique brush, haven’t seen this one yet! Pity the comb didn’t work to separate as well as it claimed.

I’m curious about this one! I like that the wand is teeny tiny. Glad to hear the formula is good too.

CoverGirl So Lashy was a complete dud for me, I hated it. This looks better and I love the results on your lashes.
