Metallic lipsticks are still on trend for summer and after releasing their matte collection two years ago, Revlon added eight new metallic shades to this line. The Revlon Ultra HD Matte Metallic LipColor is a 100% wax free, gel formula that claims to deliver the lips a velvety matte metallic look!
The name’ Matte and Mettalic’ can be a little bit confusing. In fact, these do not dry completely to give a fully matte finish. I am not sure why they added the word ’matte’ to the name because these give the lips a velvety finish.
The shade ‘700 HD Flare’ is a warm orangey red. It has an average pigmentation and it might look streaky with just one coat. After two coats, it gives an even medium coverage and it contains some sparkles that show on the lips.
After one hour of wear, it started to set on the lips and lose a little bit of its shine. The formula is lightweight but it does settle a little bit into the fine lines of the lips and it does make them look more wrinkly. After it sets, it feels more comfortable on the lips and it was not drying but not moisturizing either. It might last for 3-4 hours without eating a heavy meal.
As you can see in the picture above, this shade does not look overly ‘metallic’. So if you are looking for this bold strong metallic look, this might NOT be a good choice. If you prefer more the look of a soft velvety finish with some small sparkles on the lips, this could be a nice drugstore option!
So these were my full thoughts on the new Revlon Ultra HD Matte Metallic LipColor, have you tried anything of this collection?
