Hello beauties!Welcome back!Today’s post is all about the new ‘Maybelline The City Mini Eyeshadow Palette’. Maybelline released a new collection of eight travel-friendly eyeshadow palettes and most of the shades are now available in stores.
I haven’t been the biggest fan of Maybelline’s eyeshadow palettes in the past. The nude palette for example is not horrible in my opinion, but it is not the best. However, the new palette that I will be reviewing today is completely different and it is really worth it!
Maybelline The City Mini Palette in the shade ‘Rooftop Bronzes’ contains six colors that are all either satin, shimmery or glittery. The formula in general is very creamy and easy to blend. The pigmentation varies between the shades but most of them are fairly pigmented and the color payoff on the eyes looks really nice.
Here is a complete description of the colors:
Color #1: a shimmery , light golden champagne with some gold shimmers. This color has an average pigmentation and a very creamy texture. It applies beautifully on the eyes and it is a very nice inner corner highlight too.
Color #2: a shimmery light- medium gold . It has good pigmentation and a very creamy texture. It applies beautifully on the eyes and it does not have a lot of fallout.
Color #3: a satin bronze . This color has a very soft texture and it has no visible particles of shimmers which makes it very wearable in the crease. It has no fallout and it blends beautifully too.
Color #4 : a glittery peach. Out of all the colors in this palette, this is my least favorite. It has some chunks of glitters and after applying it on the eyelids, all these glitter particles do fall on the face.
Color #5: A medium warm satin brown. This color is a little bit powdery and it has some fallout. It is the type of colors that if you blend them too much, they disappear. Blending it with a light hand works best.
Color #6: a shimmery dark brown. It has an average pigmentation and it applies beautifully on the eyes. It blends easily too and it could be a perfect shade for a quick black smokey eye
As you can see in the picture above, the new palette is much smaller in size than the ‘nudes palette’ and it is more travel-friendly.
So these were my thoughts on the new Maybelline The City Mini Palette in Rooftop Bronzes. The color payoff is good on the eyes even without any primer ( except for the chunky shade number 4).However, to extend the wear, I suggest using a primer as these tend to fade after 4-5 hours of wear.
Overall, I was really satisfied with the quality of the palette and I will be definitely trying more palettes of this collection! Maybelline has definitely done some great improvements in the quality of their eyeshadows . I think that for the price, this palette is a great deal!
